Perched on the 5th floor of Empshere in Bangkok, stepping inside feels like entering the set of Miami Vice. It’s the perfect backdrop for sipping cocktails that are as creative as they are Instagram-worthy.

From delectable dishes to vibrant drinks, Mami Rose delivers not just a meal, but an experience—a nostalgic journey into an era of decadence and flair. Now let me show you what we ate!

From the Toast and Bite menu, we tried the French Toast Brioche. The soft, buttery brioche was infused with the earthy aroma of truffle and topped with a rich Parmesan cream. The combination of the creamy topping and the delicately toasted bread made for a savory and satisfying dish.

From the Toast and Bite section of the menu, we also tried the Smoked Lobster Bun. The dish featured a soft bun filled with a flavorful lobster salad. The lobster was lightly smoked, enhancing its natural sweetness, and mixed with a tangy aioli sauce. A cilantro mayonnaise added a fresh, herbaceous note, tying the flavors together in a well-balanced bite.

As a side, we opted for the Flambéed Eggplant, and it didn’t disappoint. The eggplant was perfectly cooked, with a smoky, charred exterior and a soft, creamy interior. The flambé technique added a subtle depth of flavor, making it a great complement to the other dishes.

From the Raw Bar, the Salmon Tataki features lightly seared salmon that is tender and fresh. It comes paired with a miso mayonnaise, providing a savory and slightly sweet creaminess. The dish is finished with a basil vinaigrette, adding a touch of acidity and herbal flavor that balances the richness of the fish and sauce.

From the small plates selection, the Beef Wagyu Carpaccio offers thinly sliced, high-quality Wagyu beef. The dish is topped with toasted sesame seeds, adding a subtle nuttiness, and accompanied by crisp homemade croutons for texture. This combination creates a simple yet flavorful appetizer that highlights the beef’s rich, buttery taste

For the mains, we kicked things off with a Korbuta Pork Chop, and it did not disappoint. The pork was incredibly succulent—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. It came with a spicy Nduja sauce that brought just the right amount of heat, enhancing the pork without taking over. To balance things out, a side of curly kale added a nice bit of crunch and freshness, cutting through the richness of the meat and sauce. A well-rounded plate that checked all the boxes.

The second main came from the pasta and risotto section, and we went with the Lobster Risotto. It’s been a while since I had a proper risotto, and this one hit the mark. The rice was cooked just right—soft and creamy, without being too heavy. The lobster was perfectly done, tender and flavorful, without being overcooked. All in all, it was a well-balanced dish that made me remember just how good a solid risotto can be.

And now, for dessert. recommended Surprise Me Dessert— it definitely lived up to its name. It featured a smooth coffee custard, topped with a crunchy chocolate brownie and a drizzle of caramel. The contrast of textures and flavors made it a solid end to the meal—sweet, rich.

This dinner definitely kept our taste buds engaged and our stomachs satisfied. But let’s not forget to mention the cocktails—they were just as impressive. The selection was solid, with a good mix of flavors and creativity, but our two favorites were…

The Plata O Plomo cocktail was a real standout—Pisco, passion fruit, lemon juice, and egg white came together for a refreshingly smooth drink. It was hard not to feel a little intimidated with Pablo Escobar’s face staring back at you while you sipped this. This drink definitely packs some punch, both in flavor and presentation—served with a creative touch of power and a $100 bill rolled up as a garnish. Let’s just say, this cocktail wasn’t messing around.

My favorite was the Love Island Cocktail. It was a simple yet well-balanced mix of Grey Goose vodka, white cacao, and agave syrup. The vodka provided a smooth base, while the white cacao added a subtle sweetness, and the agave syrup brought just the right amount of natural flavor to tie it all together. It was easy-drinking, refreshing, and a perfect choice for a laid-back, enjoyable night out.

Now, let me talk about the space—whether you want to call it the joint, the crib, or whatever—it definitely has a strong ’80s vibe. With its pops of pink and neon accents, it feels like stepping into a time capsule from that era. The area is open on one side, giving it an al fresco feel that’s perfect for a laid-back meal. Personally, I love the booth-style tables; I’m definitely a booth kind of gal. If you’re not bothered by pastel colors, this place has a playful energy that’ll probably put a smile on your face. And as the night goes on, it transforms into a bit of a party spot, adding some extra buzz to the atmosphere.
